Diane Madden has been the Executive Director of the Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine (CRCWM) for five years. She worked for MaineHealth for 35 years, including 20 years in Oncology, and 10 years as the director of the Raising Readers program, a health and literacy program for children. She received her Masters in Business Administration from Husson College, and published her first children's book in 2023. Diane lives in Harrison with her husband, Ed. CRC of WM is dedicated to supporting individuals affected by cancer through a caring community, providing resources, education, and wellness services. They offer one-on-one support, cancer resource navigation, wellness programs, support groups, complementary therapy, travel and food assistance, and various comfort items—all free of charge to those impacted by cancer. Diane’s leadership has been instrumental in ensuring that nobody faces cancer alone. Diane received the prestigious “Patricia Weigel Pay It Forward Award” from Norway Savings Bank. This annual award, created in honor of former CEO Pat Weigel, recognizes organizations making a positive impact in the community. The CRCofWM received a $10,000 grant to continue their mission of supporting cancer patients and their loved ones. |

On Thursday, March 7th Deborah Condello, Community Outreach Coordinator at the Southern Maine Agency on Aging will speak to local Rotarians and friends. The meeting will be from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at Stella’s on the Square, 6 North High Street in Bridgton. Deborah works in partnerships with communities in Cumberland and York counties, responds to program inquiries and more. She is eager to share a brief overview of the agency’s services, but is most interested in gauging needs and interests of the elderly in the Bridgton community. The Agency has been around for over 50 years.

Inspired by the vision of MEH and Justin and Bernadette McIver Matt decided to join Soleful Health Club in Bridgton over a year ago and has focused on improving the health and wellness of the community. ROTARY CLUB SPEAKER IS JOANNA MOORE OF CROSSWALK COMMUNITY OUTREACH.
The Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club is pleased to welcome Joanna Moore, Founder and Board Member of Crosswalk Community Outreach in Naples, as speaker on Thursday, May 9, at 7:30 a.m. at Stella’s on the Square in Bridgton.
Crosswalk was founded in 2009 and has served the Lake Region community for more than 15 years. Moore was Director of Crosswalk for over 12 years. She currently serves as Chaplain, Community Health Worker, and Board Member of the organization. Today Crosswalk has 35 volunteers. Among those they serve are local seniors, disabled veterans, the homeless, and those seeking clothing, meals, emergency fuel, and friendship.
Moore’s presentation will be on Valuing our Veterans.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Coffee will be served. |
